Old Dominion

Old Dominion’s skyscraping anthems and electrifying live shows have put the Multi-Platinum-selling band prominently at the forefront of country music. Fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound, their lyrical wit and hook-heavy songwriting has certainly proved to be a winning formula for Nashville’s hottest band. It’s no wonder Rolling Stone cited Old Dominion as “one of mainstream country music’s most popular live groups.” Since breaking onto the music scene the band has notched nine No. 1 singles at country radio, surpassed five billion on-demand streams, earned over a dozen RIAA Platinum and Gold single certifications, and headlined arenas and amphitheaters around the globe. Over the course of their career, Old Dominion has received numerous awards, accolades, and nominations from the GRAMMY Awards, CMAs, CMT, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and iHeart Radio. Old Dominion are currently the reigning 7X ACM and 6X CMA “Group of the Year.” The band took home their seventh consecutive win for “Group of the Year” at the 2024 ACM Awards, tying the all-time record for most consecutive wins in the category. The band also took home their sixth successive win for “Vocal Group of the Year” at the 2023 CMA Awards, tying the record for most consecutive Vocal Group Award wins in CMA history. Moreover, they earned nominations for “Album of the Year” and “Vocal Group of the Year” at the 2022 CMA Awards. Plus, Old Dominion received a nomination for “Favorite Country Duo or Group” at the 2022 American Music Awards. Additionally, band has been named ACM “New Group of the Year,” ACCA “Breakthrough Group of the Year,” AIMP “Songwriter Artist of the Year” and Music Row “Group/Duo of the Year” and “Breakthrough Artist of the Year.” In 2021, Old Dominion received two GRAMMY nominations for their song “Some People Do,” including “Best Country Song” and “Best Country Duo/Group Performance.” At the 2020 CMT Awards, the band took home their first win for “Group Video of The Year.” Frontman Matthew Ramsey was named ASCAP’s “Artist of the Year” in 2017. To top it off, Old Dominion earned two 2024 CMT Music Award nominations for “Duo/Group Video of The Year” and “Collaborative Video of The Year” as well as a nomination for “The Group/Duo of the Year” for the 2024 People’s Choice Awards. Old Dominion is lead singer Matthew Ramsey, lead guitarist Brad Tursi, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen, bassist Geoff Sprung and drummer Whit Sellers.

For the past 35 years, Cheap Trick – rock’s power-pop originator – has forged its rightful place among the world’s most accomplished and emulated rock bands with a timeless sound that blends elements of pop, punk, and even metal, in an instantly recognizable way.   Since the release of its self-titled debut album in 1977, Cheap Trick has sold over 20 million records, received 40 gold and platinum recording awards, given more than 5,000 high-powered live performances (the quartet of consummate musicians is widely known for nearly four decades of almost continuous touring), and appeared on 29 movie soundtracks, exhibiting its far-reaching popularity and appeal.  In 2007, Cheap Trick was honored by the Chicago Chapter of NARAS for its extensive and significant contributions to the music industry.   One of the most avant-garde, influential and enduring bands in the history of music, Cheap Trick (Robin Zander – Vocals and Guitar, Rick Neilsen – Guitar and Vocals; Tom Petersson – Bass, Guitar and Vocals; Bun E. Carlos – Drums) has contributed an impressive list of classics to the American Rock Songbook, including “I Want You To Want Me,” “Surrender,” “The Flame,” “Dream Police,” and “Can’t Stop Fallin’ In Love.”  Likely one of the most covered bands of all time, Cheap Trick continues its reign as power-pop progenitors worldwide – especially in the United States, Australia, Europe and Japan.  In the latter, they are often referred to by the press as the “American Beatles.”  The band was ranked among the Top 25 in VH1’s list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and its 1977 sophomore album, In Color, was ranked in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.    Heaven Tonight, the third record by the esteemed Illinois-based rockers released in 1978, was the first album ever recorded with a 12-string electric bass and made the band megastars in Japan, creating a frenzy reminiscent of “Beatlemania” on its first tour of the country.  Two concerts attended by loyal Japanese fans at the Nippon Budokan were recorded during the 1978 tour, and the monumental live album Cheap Trick at Budokan was released, launching the band into international superstardom.  The galvanizing live recording went triple platinum in the U.S. powered by the smash “I Want You To Want Me.”  By the time All Shook Up (produced by former Beatles producer George Martin) was released in 1980, Cheap Trick was headlining arenas and lighting up the charts.  Abundant success continued with 1985’s Standing On The Edge (called the band’s “best collection of bubblegum bazooka rock in years”); 1988’s platinum “comeback album” Lap Of Luxury (including No. 1 “The Flame”) and 1990’s Busted.          Cheap Trick has continued its amazing run into the 21st Century with an authenticity and focus that perpetually sets the band apart.  In August of 2007, the band honored the 40th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by playing the album in its entirety with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and guest vocalists.  Recent performances of its entire Dream Police album with an orchestra received critical acclaim; its music has been featured in recent ad campaigns by Audi, McDonald’s, and John Varvatos and in video games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band; and the theme song for Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report was written and performed by Cheap Trick.  Its current album, The Latest, has received glowing reviews worldwide, and the band continues to thrill crowds around the globe with its phenomenal live performances – most recently on a North American Tour with Aerosmith.    Highly regarded and respected by its peers, Cheap Trick has inspired and influenced countless other artists and bands – Joey Ramone, Gene Simmons, Joe Perry, Angus Young, Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hüsker Dü, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, and Kurt Cobain among them.  Cheap Trick has made an indelible mark on rock and roll…and the band’s legacy continues.

Lord Huron

Recently, those good-time bootscooters known as Lord Huron booked the live room in Whispering Pines for a recordin’ spell. Those boys know what they’re doin’, having made a few records with us. But the live room, this was a first. If you’ve ever recorded at the Pines, then you know nothin’ is off limits. Guitars, cymbals, pianos, pedal steel, mandolins, microphones, saxophones—I was glad to see their hands on all of it. I even heard ’em talk about recordin’ a gigantic string and woodwind orchestra in some dang place like Sweden.   The boys filled the air—and my own soul—with those tales of hard luck, heartbreak, and redemption, as if they had become conduits for the spirits of the room and were usin’ them to tap into that cosmic eternal. It was like some long, lost dream come to life, a forgotten classic from a parallel dimension, the echo of a memory that wasn’t mine. But the feelin’ was real.   I must have drifted off in a cosmic slumber with the tunes janglin’ heavy and happy in my heart. When I woke, the light from the next day was easin’ into the Pines and I was alone. But somethin’ caught my eye: a hand-scratched note bound to a faded vinyl record called “Long Lost.” I brushed the dust off the cover and saw that the artist was none other than Lord Huron. Say, Tubbs, the note read. Time washes aways what man creates, but ‘Long Lost’ might convince you that a note can live on. Be good now.   And just like that, they were gone.
